If you’ve ever watched the Geico insurance commercials, notice the lizard is the main character, he is trying to push the company’s services.This type of figure could be considered a “spokesperson” for the company and would fall under the category of public relations.
It’s fairly obvious that large enterprises use these types of promotions in an effort to move product, they invest countless hours in market research marketing to make this a reality. Communications is an amazing tactic that gets results and if you’re company can effectively communicate with a customer, you are sure to sell them something!
For example, if you were trying to promote the project payday service, you would probably need to find someone or something to represent it and symbolize the fact that it is a high quality program that gives users the ability to supplement their income by filling out offers and obtaining referrals. You may decide that you want Bob Barker to represent the company and show off his new PS3 that he got from the incentivized freebie websites.
When you watch the channel 7 evening news, the person on the screen is a professional spokesperson for their news company. If someone told you to create a television commercial to sell more frosted flakes, wouldn’t you immediately decide to try and find a tiger like Tony? I asked myself the other day how can i get money to start my own business? The answer was become the head of a communications department and find a great spokesperson for the company! This would be a prime example of communicating with the public to create additional interest in your services.
How you get the word out is up to you but it is definitely something important to think about. If you were in charge of the marketing communications for a company what type of spokesperson would be most effective
Cruise the internet for a few hours and see if you can become an expert in spotting business spokespeople and the many forms they come in, this may be a very interesting skill to have!
