Way to begin to live without debt

March 20, 2009

Everyone would like to live nonchalantly without worry for the future, especially considering money. Unfortunately this is only a pipe dream for many of us, and instead of having a carefree existence most of us are covered in debt, struggling to find a way out of the money problems we seem to constantly find ourselves in. Indeed, for most of us, living life debt free seems an unattainable goal. It helps to find a good debt consolidation program.

What can we do then, to attain a debt free living? There are a number of steps you can take to achieve a lifestyle like this, however the first step is to be aware of your personal financial circumstances. You have to determine the amount of your income per month. (less taxes etc), and then also learn how much you normally spend in a month. If you want a debt free lifestyle, the idea is to spend less than you earn.

Consequently, as long as you remain within these perimeters, you can spend as much as you desire of your complete earned income. Or, if you are going to knowingly step over these bounds, you should ideally be prepared to cut back on some things over the next few months as you pay back the extra money you have taken on credit. It takes good credit card debt management plans to avoid getting in ofer your head.

Make sure you plan ahead when making purchases on a credit card and if at all possible you should pay off the balance every month, or with large purchases at least within two or three months, to avoid paying interest as much as possible.

If you want to be debt free, you need to change some basic spending rules in your life, even if they aren’t the way you’re used to spending. Without following a good plan you may end up searching for free debt help.

Some form of compromise is going to be necessary on your part to have a debt free living, and doing things like this, where you don’t use your credit card indiscriminately just because you can, is as a good place to start as any. Well, that and remembering to live within your means will be a good start to staying debt free!
