TomTom is one of the largest auto GPS Company in the USA. Their products generally have more advanced routing features than those found on competitor’s devices. The TomTom XL 330S GPS Navigator features a 4.3 inch large, anti-glare, LCD touchscreen display in full color with a screen resolution of 480 x 272. The ultra-thin design makes the car GPS very nice and shiny as well as easy to keep just about anywhere, or slip into any bag or suitcase when you are not using it. The internal lithium ion battery included with the GPS unit has a run time of up to three hours without access to a power source. This GPS offers menu displays in a wide variety of languages in addition to the usual English and Spanish including French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, and Swedish. Preloaded with numerous points of interest (POI) located throughout both the United States and Canada, including a host of gas stations, restaurants and eateries, airports, hotels and motels, hospitals and many more.

The TomTom XL 340S is an entry level GPS device, the setup was made really simple allowing you to use it immediately after it is unboxed. There is an activation process that needs to be done online, but no major problems should be experienced. The main menu is easy to use with some meaningful icons leading to the main features. The maps are adequate, but should be updated immediately via downloadable content to get any missing signs. The fastest routes are based on calculations based on other data coming from other users with the IQ Routes feature allowing it to be suitable for time critical trips. A nice extra is the ability to download fuel prices so you can find the nearest gas station that saves you the most money. The Map Share feature is also pretty cool for other TomTom users to share maps with one another to enrich on accuracy.
